How do I get to Montaña de Fuego?
There is land and air
transportation available to our hotel:
By land
- Private
transportation: We offer transportation from several points in the
country on any of our units. We have three vehicles available:
- One
Toyota Coaster mini bus, for up to 25 people.
- Two Toyota Hiace
vans, for up to 15 people each.
Please contact us to check
for current rates.
Car rental service: Through
Montaña de Fuego you may reserve the vehicle of your preference and
drive to our hotel, utilizing any of the previously described routes.

Group shuttle service:
Available from some of the major hotels in San José to our hotel. Make
your reservation today.
By air
Air shuttle
service is available to and from La Fortuna, from the following
locations: San José, Quepos, Liberia, and Tamarindo. Once you arrive to
the local airport, we will shuttle you to our hotel. Make your

3. How close is the nearest gas station,
supermarket, and medical center?
In downtown La Fortuna you will
find a gas station, a supermarket, clothing stores, and medical
services available. The distance between Montaña de Fuego and downtown
La Fortuna is 8 Km (5 miles).

4. How far is the Arenal Volcano from the hotel?
The
Arenal Volcano is located about 5 or 6 Km (3 – 4 miles) from our hotel.

located 1 mile (1.6 Km) from the hot springs available in the area.

6. Can I see the Arenal Volcano at any time?
The
Arenal Volcano is one of the 10 most active in the world. All year long
you can experience its incessant manifestations, including emissions of
gases and sulphur steam, explosions with pyroclastic emissions, and
loud rumbles. The months of July, August, September, and October, are
the best times to admire natureÂ’s wonder from any part of our hotel.
However, due to the unpredictable nature of tropical climate, and the
frequent presence of fog, it would be impossible to guarantee absolutely
clear visibility of the volcano on a given day

7. Is there Internet access in the hotel ?
Currently,
Montaña de Fuego has Internet access exclusively in the hotel Reception
and restaurant area.

Rooms
1. What is the
difference between the three types of rooms?
Montaña de Fuego
Hotel has a total of 66 rooms:
- 10 Standard rooms: these are
small and cozy bungalows built in rustic wood; furnished with a Queen
size bed and a Single bed, which makes for a sleeping capacity of three
people per room.
- 38 Deluxe rooms, built in rustic and modern
wood, and larger than the Standard rooms. We have three different types
of Deluxe rooms:
- 18 modern-style rooms built in wood (equipped
with two Queen size beds) for four people.
- 12 rooms built in
rustic wood (equipped with two Queen size beds) for four people.
- 8
rooms in the family building (equipped with two Queen size beds and 1
Single bed)
Montaña de Fuego cannot guarantee the
type of Deluxe room that will be assigned to you, particularly during
the high tourist season.
- 18 Suites, built in concrete and
much larger that any of the other rooms. They include a master bedroom
with a King size bed and a color TV, a living room with its own cable
TV, and a sofa bed for two additional people. The Suites are also
equipped with a Jacuzzi in the bath area.

2. Which rooms have a view
of the Arenal Volcano?
Montaña de Fuego is built on a privileged
location in the Arenal Valley, and is recognized as one of the best
places to admire this marvelous volcano. From almost every spot in the
hotel you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Arenal
Volcano. Every one of our 66 rooms provides a fabulous panoramic view of
this majestic, so-called “Fire Mountain”.

3. Are there any connecting
rooms in the hotel?
Montaña de Fuego has no connecting rooms
available, yet it offers at beautiful two-storey family building, with a
total of 8 rooms; 4 rooms on the top floor, and 4 on the bottom. This
building is ideal for groups or large families who wish to stay with us.

4. Are
there any rooms equipped for someone with a disability?
At
Montaña de Fuego we have some rooms specially suited for a guest in a
wheel chair. Please specify this need when making your reservation.

5. Can I
place an international phone call from my hotel room?
You can
make international calls from any room in the hotel through an operator.

6. What do the rates
include?
Room rates include a delicious buffet breakfast in our
Acuarelas Restaurant.
You will also enjoy our unique facilities,
immersed in 45 hectares of primary and secondary forest, offering plenty
of great walking trails, beautiful gardens, Jacuzzi, sauna and pools,
spa services, and tours for the enjoyment of the whole family.
The
tour services and spa treatments are not included in the room rates,
and neither are the local taxes, which total 13%.
